Madhya Pradesh Police's Anti-Drug Campaign: Drugs Worth ₹50 Lakhs, Weapons Seized

Intensive Operations Yield Significant Seizures

The Madhya Pradesh Police, alongside the 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' public awareness campaign, is actively combating the illegal drug trade. In intensive operations conducted across the state over the past three days, police have seized narcotics, weapons, vehicles, and other materials valued at approximately ₹50 lakh.

This crackdown aims not only to alert the youth and general public about the ill effects of drugs but also to tighten the noose on individuals involved in the trafficking, supply chain, and manufacturing of illegal narcotics. The operation has been conducted in various districts of the state, yielding promising results, according to information released by the Public Relations Cell of the Police Headquarters.

Major Operations Across Districts

In Mandsaur district, police apprehended two smugglers, seizing 173 grams of MD drugs and approximately 24.57 kilograms of chemicals used in its manufacturing. Additionally, two cars and mobile phones were confiscated, with an estimated total value of around ₹19.47 lakh.

The Nahargarh police station in the same district arrested an inter-state smuggler, recovering 4 kilograms of opium and a motorcycle, along with assets worth approximately ₹6.50 lakh.

In Vidisha district, the Kotwali police seized 80 grams of brown sugar and detained two suspects. This brown sugar is estimated to be worth ₹10 lakh in the international market.

Neemuch district's Baghana police station arrested two individuals, seizing 54.95 grams of MD, 5 kilograms of poppy straw, a country-made pistol, and one live cartridge. The total value of the seized property is estimated at approximately ₹6.24 lakh.

Special Operation in Capital, Social Media Revealed in Indore

In Morena district, Subalgarh police seized 35 kilograms of cannabis from an accused, valued at approximately ₹3.50 lakh.

Meanwhile, in the capital Bhopal, police personnel from the Talaiya police station conducted a special operation in the Itwara and Tilak Market areas. This operation involved approximately 200 police personnel, drone cameras, narcotics sniffer dogs, dog catchers, and other modern resources.

As a result of this well-planned raid, six smugglers were arrested. They were found in possession of 7.5 kilograms of cannabis, 90 grams of charas, illegal weapons, illicit liquor, and wildlife parts. The total value of the seized property in this action is approximately ₹3.50 lakh.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act, Arms Act, Excise Act, and Wildlife Protection Act, and their extensive networks are under intensive investigation.

In Indore district, the Lasudia police took action against inter-state drug traffickers, arresting two individuals. They seized 19.14 grams of MD drugs and a motorcycle, along with other items, estimated to be worth ₹1.60 lakh.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that these accused were involved in drug trafficking by contacting customers through social media platforms.

Emphasis on Public Participation, Strong Message Issued

The Madhya Pradesh Police has clarified that the 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign is not limited to public awareness but has a primary objective of dismantling the entire chain of the illegal drug trade. Consistent, intensive, and coordinated actions are being undertaken across the state in this regard.

The police have issued a stern warning that anyone involved in the trafficking, storage, or sale of illegal narcotics will not be spared under any circumstances. The police have also appealed to the public to immediately report any illegal drug-related activity to the local police.

Through this public participation, the goal of creating a drug-free, safe, and healthy Madhya Pradesh can be effectively achieved. The police remain continuously active in this direction and have reiterated their commitment to continuing such actions in the future.
