Bhopal, August 8, 2026 – In preparation for the smooth, secure, and successful organization of the upcoming Simhastha-2028, a special training program is being conducted for police officers and personnel in Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal. This intensive training, currently in its fifth day at the Police Line Community Hall, aims to equip law enforcement with essential skills for the monumental religious and cultural gathering.

Expert-Led Sessions Cover Critical Aspects

Participants are receiving practical training from experts on crucial subjects including stress management, soft skills, media management, security strategies, and the functioning of temporary police stations. The overarching goal is to mentally and professionally prepare the police force to effectively tackle the diverse challenges anticipated during the Simhastha, a massive religious and cultural event.

Emphasis on Well-being and Professional Conduct

The training program commenced with yoga, physical training, and meditation sessions. Reserve Inspector Shri Jay Singh Tomar and Heartfulness trainer Shri Rajesh Chandra Sharma guided trainees through yoga, pranayama, and meditation exercises. They emphasized that regular practice enhances mental concentration, self-confidence, and efficiency, aiding officers in making better decisions under stressful conditions.

Navigating Pressure and Enhancing Communication

Dr. Vineet Kapoor, Deputy Inspector General of Police, delivered a session on 'Soft Skills (Stress Management),' highlighting the immense pressure and challenging situations police officers face during large-scale events like Simhastha. He imparted practical techniques for maintaining patience, composure, and a positive outlook in crisis situations, fostering effective communication, teamwork, and mental equilibrium.

A special focus was placed on the importance of adopting courteous, sensitive, and professional behavior when interacting with devotees, foreign tourists, and VVIPs. This aspect is vital for maintaining the reputation and smooth functioning of the event.

Strategic Media and Social Media Management

Shri Shailendra Singh Chauhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Urban Police Bhopal, provided training on the effective management of social media, electronic, and print media. He underscored the role of platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), alongside traditional media outlets.

Highlighting the necessity for rapid and authentic dissemination of information during the Simhastha fair, he stressed that countering misinformation and promptly delivering factual details to the public is a critical police responsibility. Trainees were educated on strategies for social media monitoring, media coordination, and rapid information management.

Security Planning and Temporary Station Operations

The training also covered detailed aspects of identifying potential security threats during the fair, securing sensitive locations, preventive measures for crowd management, and swift, coordinated police actions in emergencies. Furthermore, training was provided on the necessity, structure, responsibilities, record-keeping, prompt grievance redressal, and maintaining law and order within the temporary police stations to be established during the fair.

Through this comprehensive training program, all participants have engaged with subject matter experts, resolved their queries, and acquired essential practical knowledge to ensure an excellent, sensitive, and effective police presence during Simhastha-2028. This initiative marks a significant step for the Madhya Pradesh Police towards the successful execution of the upcoming Simhastha.
