Security Measures for Ratangarh Fair
To ensure the safety of millions of devotees expected at the renowned Deepawali Daj Festival Fair in Ratangarh, Datia district, the Bhind administration has taken stringent measures. District Magistrate Pawan Jain has issued orders under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles on key routes in Bhind during the fair.
This restriction will be effective from November 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM until November 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The order specifies that dumpers, trucks, and other heavy goods carriers will be banned from entering important routes such as Lahar to Sevda, Mau to Sevda, Mau to Behat, Alampur to Bhagwapura, and Mehgaon to Mau-Ratangarh.
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions on Key Routes
The Deepawali Daj Festival Fair, held annually in Datia district, attracts millions of devotees and tourists, often numbering between 20 to 25 lakhs. To ensure the safe and smooth transit of this massive crowd, the District Magistrate has made this significant decision.
The objective of limiting heavy vehicle entry on key Bhind routes is crowd management and accident prevention. The order clearly states that heavy vehicles, particularly dumpers and trucks, will be completely prohibited from commuting in areas like Lahar to Sevda, Mau to Sevda, Mau to Behat, Alampur to Bhagwapura, and Mehgaon to Mau-Ratangarh.
Double Tractor-Trolley Ban
With the utmost priority on devotee safety, the administration has tightened traffic regulations further. Specifically, there is a complete ban on the operation of double tractor-trolleys during the fair. This means that towing two trolleys behind a single tractor will not be permitted.
This move is aimed at reducing potential hazards and maintaining traffic flow. The arrangement is applicable for the fair scheduled from November 9 to November 11. Local authorities have appealed to all vehicle drivers to comply with these regulations and cooperate with the administration for a peaceful and safe conclusion of the fair.
