Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Major Development Projects

The Madhya Pradesh Council of Ministers, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, has approved several significant proposals to accelerate the state's overall development. Key areas addressed include strengthening infrastructure around the capital Bhopal, promoting agricultural research, enhancing women's dignity, and bolstering industrial safety.

Bhopal-Vidisha Highway to be 4-Lane

The cabinet sanctioned a ₹1,757.55 crore project to upgrade the Bhopal-Vidisha road to a four-lane highway. This initiative, covering 44.83 kilometers, will transform the existing two-lane road into a four-lane facility with paved shoulders.

This infrastructure development is crucial for managing the increasing urbanization and traffic pressure around Bhopal. The upgrade aims to improve connectivity between the two cities, fostering economic and industrial growth in the region.

Bhopal Bypass to be Extended to 6-Lanes

In a move to alleviate traffic congestion and meet future transportation demands, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved the expansion of the Bhopal Bypass from four to six lanes. This extension is vital for streamlining the movement of heavy vehicles and reducing the traffic burden on the city center.

The Bhopal Bypass connects the state capital to districts like Indore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Narmadapuram. The cabinet also finalized the toll collection period related to the bypass expansion.

National Soybean Research Institute to be Established

To strengthen the agricultural sector, the cabinet approved the free allocation of 20 hectares of land on a permanent lease for the establishment of the National Soybean Research Institute in Bhaukhedi village, Ichhawar tehsil, Sehore district.

This institute, which will operate under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is expected to boost soybean productivity, improve quality, and promote scientific research on new technologies and advanced varieties. Soybeans are a major crop in Madhya Pradesh, and the institute's establishment is anticipated to benefit farmers through scientific agricultural practices and increased income.

Increased Award Amounts for Women's Honor

In recognition of women's outstanding contributions, courage, and social service, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased the prize money for two significant state-level awards. The Rani Durgavati State-Level Award and the Rani Avantibai State-Level Bravery Award will now carry a prize of ₹2 lakh each.

The Rani Avantibai State-Level Bravery Award has been presented since 2006. The government believes these enhanced awards will further encourage women, including those with over 40% disability and single women, to undertake inspirational work in society, even under challenging circumstances.

State's First Industrial Security Force to be Formed in Khandwa

Prioritizing safety in industrial areas, the cabinet approved the formation of the state's first Industrial Security Force in Khandwa district. This specialized force is intended to enhance the security of industrial establishments and important institutions.

This initiative is seen as a significant step towards attracting investment and creating a secure and conducive environment for industrial activities in the state. The cabinet's decisions underscore a multi-faceted approach to development, focusing on infrastructure, agriculture, women's empowerment, and industrial security.
