Congress Voices Concern Over Medical Science University Bifurcation

Jabalpur Congress has expressed significant concern regarding the potential bifurcation of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University and the apprehension that its crucial functions might be transferred to Ujjain. A delegation led by former Youth Congress State Secretary Badal Panjwani submitted a memorandum to Cantonment MLA Ashok Ishwardas Rohani, demanding his intervention in the matter.

Memorandum Highlights University's Importance to Mahakoushal Region

In the memorandum, Badal Panjwani stated that the Medical Science University is not just an achievement for Jabalpur but a vital academic and institutional accomplishment for the entire Mahakoushal region. He warned that any bifurcation or transfer of its powers and functions would severely damage the years of progress made in medical education in Jabalpur and adversely impact the region's overall development.

Growing Worry Over Institution Transfers

The Congress delegation also highlighted that the Dairy Science College was previously moved from Jabalpur to Ujjain during Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's tenure. The current discussions surrounding the Medical Science University have amplified the city's anxieties, with Congress alleging that the continuous weakening of key institutions leaves the residents of Jabalpur feeling neglected.

Appeal to MLA for Effective Intervention

The Jabalpur Congress committee has urged MLA Ashok Ishwardas Rohani to respect the sentiments of the people of Jabalpur and strongly oppose any bifurcation or relocation of the Medical Science University's powers and functions. They demanded that the university's current structure, authority, and headquarters be fully maintained in Jabalpur and requested effective government-level intervention to protect the interests of the Mahakoushal region.

Several other Congress officials were present during the memorandum submission, including Rizwan Ali Koti, Kapil Bhojak, Amit Sonkar, Sagar Shukla, Palash Yadav, Ejaz Ansari, Zafar Khan, Shahnawaz Ansari, and Shafi Khan.
