Road Safety Drive Targets Passenger Buses and Driving School Vehicles
The Transport Department in Guna has launched a special road safety campaign, taking strict action against passenger buses and driving school vehicles found violating regulations. This drive was conducted under the direction of Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal and guidance from RTO Vikram Singh Rathore.
Intensive Inspection Leads to Fines and Penalties
During the intensive inspection, a total of 23 passenger buses were examined. While 19 buses met the prescribed standards, the remaining 4 buses were found to have defects, leading to enforcement actions. The department specifically targeted buses operating without fitness certificates.
Significant Fines Imposed for Operating Without Fitness Certificates
The Transport Department imposed a substantial fine of ₹10,000 each on two passenger buses found operating without fitness certificates. Additionally, ₹2,000 each in composition fees were collected from two other buses with various technical deficiencies. These actions aim to ensure full compliance with safety standards by all passenger vehicles.
Driving School Vehicle Seized, ₹46,000 Recovered from Unpermitted Bus
In addition to the bus checks, the department seized a driving school vehicle operating without a required school certificate and impounded it at the transport office. This measure was taken to curb violations by driving schools. Furthermore, ₹46,000 in composition fees were collected from a bus previously impounded for operating without a permit.
Department Vows Continued Enforcement for Road Safety
The Transport Department has stated that its efforts to ensure road safety will continue unabated. This operation involved checkpoint in-charge Santosh Singh Tomar, Vivek Dubey, Prashant Gupta, constables Dhruv Meena and Ajay Singh Maholiya, and city volunteer Shyam Sundar Saxena. The department emphasized that no vehicle violating rules will be spared and surprise inspections will persist to guarantee road safety.
