Intensified Checks in Guna: Passenger Bus Seized for Permit Violation

The Cliff News | Guna | September 16, 2026 — In compliance with explicit directives from Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, the Transport Department has launched a special intensive inspection campaign to curb irregularities in passenger bus operations within Guna district.

The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure passenger safety and strictly enforce regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act. Led by RTO Vikram Singh Rathore and Checkpoint In-charge Santosh Singh Tomar, the operation conducted in the Do Khamba area involved a thorough inspection of seven passenger buses.

Passenger Safety Paramount: Buses Violating Rules Seized

During the inspection, several buses were found with serious deficiencies, prompting immediate action. One passenger bus was discovered operating without a valid permit, a significant violation for which the Transport Department promptly seized the vehicle.

Additionally, another bus was found carrying passengers beyond its capacity (overloaded), posing a major safety risk. Two buses had significant technical faults, potentially involving brakes, lights, or other safety equipment. Furthermore, the documentation for two buses was incomplete, casting doubt on their operational legality.

Actions were taken against the operators of these buses under Motor Vehicles rules, with a total fine of two thousand rupees collected. Transport department officials emphasized that any negligence regarding passenger safety will not be tolerated.

This inspection campaign will continue unabated in the future to effectively control illegally operating buses and provide the general public with a safe travel experience.
