A female healthcare worker was allegedly assaulted by a patient and her sister at Farrukhabad Lohia Hospital while collecting samples.

Assault During Sampling
Chaos erupted at the Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad on August 8, 2026, when a female healthcare worker, engaged in sampling duties, was reportedly assaulted by a young female patient and her sister. The victim has submitted a plea to the Awas Vikas police post, demanding stringent action against the accused.
According to the information received, the incident occurred at the hospital while the victim was at her designated workplace collecting samples for health checks. At this time, a young woman suffering from tuberculosis (TB) arrived to provide a sample. It is alleged that the healthcare worker, following protocol, requested the patient to wear a mask, which incited anger in the young woman and her sister.
Assault and Threats Alleged
The victim alleges that upon being asked to wear a mask, the patient and her sister began arguing with her and subsequently resorted to physical violence. The attack resulted in the female healthcare worker's fingernail being torn off, causing bleeding. The situation was de-escalated after intervention from colleagues.
Furthermore, according to the victim, an unidentified young man accompanying the patients allegedly took her colleague, Virendra, outside and threatened to kill him. The victim also claimed that as she left for home after finishing her work, some individuals followed her, causing her to feel unsafe.
Police Investigation Underway
In relation to this incident, the affected female healthcare worker has expressed hope for an impartial investigation and legal action against the perpetrators from the local police. The police have initiated an investigation based on the complaint and are gathering relevant facts. The hospital administration has also taken the matter seriously and indicated an internal inquiry.
