Major Bust in Guna District

In a significant operation, police in the Miyana police station area of Guna district have seized a large cache of illegal firecrackers worth approximately Rs 30 lakhs. The seizure was made based on a tip-off, leading to a blockade on the highway.

Discovery of the Illegal Consignment

Acting on confidential information, police intercepted a suspicious truck (Registration Number: MP 09 HG 9741). Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered that the firecrackers were concealed beneath grocery items and plastic pipes. This large consignment was being transported without any valid permits.

Driver Apprehended and Case Registered

The driver of the truck, identified as Pawan Joshi, a resident of village Chithara, Shivpuri district, was unable to produce any legitimate licenses or documents for the transportation of the explosives. He was subsequently arrested, and a case has been registered against him at the Miyana police station under Section 5(b) of the Explosives Act, with case number 258/2026. The seized firecrackers are estimated to be worth around Rs 30 lakhs.

Investigation into Source and Destination Underway

This action is part of an ongoing campaign by local authorities against the storage and transportation of illegal explosive materials. Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the origin and intended destination of this illegal firecracker shipment. The possibility of a larger smuggling network being involved is not being ruled out, and further legal proceedings are in progress.
