Surprise Night Inspection of Sanitation Operations

Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Shailesh Awasthi conducted an unscheduled inspection of the city's night sanitation operations in the market areas of Guna on the night of September 10, 2026. During the inspection, he issued strict instructions to the sanitation staff for improved performance.

The officer personally visited areas from Jai Stambh Chowk to Shastri Park, Laxmiganj, and Sadar Bazar on foot to assess the sanitation staff's work. CMO Awasthi gathered detailed information regarding staff attendance from Sanitation In-charge Mrs. Jai Kunwar, Maharaj Singh, and Daroga Shakeel Khan. He mandated ensuring zone-wise attendance and efficiently managing sanitation tasks.

CMO Awasthi clarified that four special teams have been deployed for night sanitation duties across various market sections. This strategic deployment aims to distribute the workload and ensure timely cleanliness.

Emphasis on Cleanliness Ahead of Festivals

In anticipation of upcoming festivals, CMO Shailesh Awasthi stressed the need for utmost vigilance and proactive measures. He directed that concrete steps be taken for regular drain cleaning and proper waste disposal.

The municipal body's partner organization, Siddhivinayak, is also actively involved in this campaign. This team is encouraging shopkeepers to install dustbins to prevent littering on the streets. The administration has also appealed to the general public to deposit waste directly into the designated garbage collection vehicles.

The primary objective behind these initiatives is to maintain a clean and organized city. The CMO issued a stern warning that any level of negligence in the city's cleanliness will not be tolerated.
