Plantation and Beautification Drive in Ukawad Kalan

Under the ambitious 'A Tree in Mother's Name' campaign, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, a significant tree plantation and beautification effort was undertaken at the Shanti Dham in Gram Panchayat Ukawad Kalan, located in the Bhamori Assembly constituency of Guna district. This initiative was successfully executed with public cooperation, under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat Guna and in collaboration with local administration.

The event commenced with the warm welcome of the Chief Executive Officer of Janpad Panchayat Bhamori, Pushpendra Vyas, Assistant Engineer Bhamori, Naresh Kushwah, and Sub-Engineer, Sanjeev Kumar Davgar, by the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Ukawad Kalan, Munni Ramnarayan Dhakad, who presented them with shawls and coconuts. Following this, the program began with a tribute to the village elders.

Renovation of Shanti Dham: Development Through Public Cooperation

The Shanti Dham premises in Ukawad Kalan have undergone a comprehensive renovation including cleanliness drives, mural painting, planting of various tree species, and other essential development works. The primary objective of these efforts is to provide improved and organized facilities for villagers attending funeral ceremonies. Local residents have lauded this initiative, describing it as a commendable endeavor for public welfare.

Expansion of the 'A Tree in Mother's Name' Campaign

As part of the 'A Tree in Mother's Name' campaign, various fruit-bearing trees such as mango, jackfruit, guava, jamun, drumstick, and orange, along with other ornamental plants for beautification, were planted within the Shanti Dham complex. The plantation drive saw active participation from the Deputy Sarpanch, Panchs, Patwari, Secretary, teachers, Anganwadi workers and assistants, school students, and the village elders, youth, and women.

During the program, a pledge was taken for the regular care of the newly planted saplings, emphasizing the message of environmental conservation. Attendees expressed their commitment to nature preservation, stating that everyone should plant at least one tree. Villagers have also taken responsibility for each planted sapling, and the plantation activities have been uploaded to the 'Ankur App'.

Active Role of Public Representatives

Sarpanch Munni Ramnarayan Dhakad, Manoj Dhakad (District President, Sarpanch Sangh Guna), and Sarpanch's son, Neelam Dhakad, played an active role in this public welfare initiative alongside their colleagues. The Sarpanch highlighted that the development works at Shanti Dham were effectively completed with the essential support of the rural populace. She emphasized that community participation significantly enhances the success and impact of development projects in public spaces.
