Tragic Incident at Nimbkori Temple

Farrukhabad | September 22, 2026. In a heartbreaking incident, a 56-year-old former soldier, who had come to visit the Nimbkori Temple in Farrukhabad on the auspicious occasion of Budhwa Mangal, passed away. Mahendra Pratap Singh Yadav, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony in Chhibramau Kotwali, Kannauj district, arrived at the temple premises around 6 AM with his wife Veena Devi, sister-in-law Guddi Devi, and brother-in-law Diwan Singh.

Mahendra Pratap Singh Yadav was suffering from paralysis, which made it difficult for him to enter the temple through the main entrance due to the crowd. According to his family, he had difficulty walking, and they were advised to visit the temple via a rear path. Around 7:15 AM, as he was proceeding through this rear path, he suddenly fell and lost consciousness.

Medical Intervention and Declaration

Showing promptness in medical assistance and declaration, police personnel deployed at the temple premises immediately transported him to the Community Health Center in Mohammadabad in their vehicle. There, Dr. Ashok Shakya attempted to save him by administering CPR, but all efforts were in vain, and doctors declared him dead.

Family in Grief

Upon receiving the news of the incident, Tajpur Chowki Incharge Kapil Kushwaha reached the spot. He completed the panchnama (post-mortem examination report) of the body and sent it for autopsy for further proceedings. Mahendra Pratap Singh Yadav is survived by his wife Veena Devi, 29-year-old daughter Princy, and 24-year-old son Paras.

Family members revealed that Mahendra Pratap was a devoted follower of Baba Lakshman Das and had suffered a heart attack in 2011, for which he was undergoing treatment. His untimely demise has cast a pall of grief over the family. Brother-in-law Diwan Singh stated that Mahendra Pratap was very eager to have darshan of Baba, disregarding his physical condition. The police are engaged in completing the necessary legal proceedings in this matter.
