Illegal Fireworks Worth Lakhs Confiscated in Guna

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities within Guna district, the Chachaura Police Station has successfully carried out a major operation in the Binaiganj area. Acting on a tip-off regarding the storage of illegal fireworks, police confiscated contraband valued at lakhs of rupees.

Police Raid Yields Major Fireworks Haul

Acting on intelligence received on the intervening night of November 5-6, 2026, police were informed about a large quantity of fireworks stored in a newly constructed house in Kumhar Mohalla, Goya Road. Responding swiftly, the Binaiganj Outpost Police conducted an immediate raid. During the search, various types of fireworks were recovered from the premises.

Accused Fails to Produce Valid License

The individual present at the location, identified as Chandmohan, son of Phool Singh Vishwakarma, was unable to present any valid license or necessary documentation for the fireworks. Furthermore, there were no adequate safety arrangements in place at the site.

Two Arrested, Case Registered

During interrogation, the accused, Chandmohan, confessed to purchasing the fireworks in collusion with his uncle, Virendra, son of Deendayal Vishwakarma. The police have officially seized the illegal fireworks material, valued at a total of ₹1.10 lakh. A case has been registered against both accused, Chandmohan and Virendra Vishwakarma, under Section 9(b) of the Explosives Act, 1884, vide Crime Number 394/2026 at Chachaura Police Station.

Operation Led by Station House Officer

The successful operation was led by the Station House Officer, Inspector Dilip Rajoria. Other members of the police force, including the Binaiganj Outpost In-charge, Sub-Inspector Bundel Singh Suneria, played a commendable role in this significant action. The police are now conducting further legal investigations to trace the source and distribution network of these illegal fireworks.
