Kanwar Yatra Preparations Reviewed at Panchal Ghat

In anticipation of the upcoming Shravan Maas Kanwar Yatra, District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar and Superintendent of Police Smt. Aarti Singh of Farrukhabad jointly inspected Panchal Ghat and the Durvasa Rishi Ashram area. The primary objective of this inspection was to ensure the yatra is conducted safely, smoothly, and in an organized manner, strengthening traffic management and promoting tourism.

Focus on Pilgrim Safety and Facilities

During the inspection, the officials focused on key aspects related to the convenience and safety of Kanwar pilgrims. This included the proper maintenance of routes, designation of parking areas, arrangements for barricading, lighting, drinking water, sanitation, availability of toilets, medical assistance, security measures, and traffic management plans. Both senior officials directed the concerned department officials to ensure pilgrims do not face any inconvenience and that all necessary arrangements are completed on time.

Emphasis on Security and Enhanced Tourism Experience

The District Magistrate emphasized that the security and convenience of pilgrims are the utmost priority during the Kanwar Yatra. He instructed for better coordination among various departments to complete all arrangements according to prescribed standards, with special vigilance advised at sensitive points. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on improving the cleanliness, beautification, and basic facilities at Panchal Ghat and the Maharishi Durvasa Ashram complex, significant sites for tourism, to provide a positive experience for pilgrims and visitors.

Water Safety and Sanitation Directives Issued

During the inspection of Panchal Ghat, the District Magistrate directed officials to install warning signs indicating water depth around the ghat. This measure aims to prevent accidents or difficulties for Kanwariyas and devotees while bathing or collecting water for worship. He also ordered the organization of shops selling puja materials near the ghat and the deployment of sufficient sanitation workers to ensure effective cleanliness.

At the Ganga river ghat near Durvasa Rishi Ashram, the District Magistrate instructed that the village panchayat fund be utilized for systematic cleaning around the river. Dustbins are also to be placed along the ghat. The cleaning of surrounding bushes and debris with the help of a JCB machine was also directed. Several other officials, including Additional District Magistrate Finance & Revenue Arun Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate Judicial Dinesh Kumar, City Magistrate Parul Tarar, Additional Superintendent of Police Girish Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Sanjay Kumar, and Executive Officer Municipality Vinod Kumar, were present during the inspection. All were instructed to complete preparations in a time-bound manner to ensure the Kanwar Yatra is conducted peacefully, safely, and in an organized fashion.
