Preparations Underway for Census 2027 in Farrukhabad

Administrative preparations for the second phase of Census 2027 are gaining momentum in Farrukhabad district. A crucial review meeting, chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar at the Collectorate Auditorium in Fatehgarh, facilitated detailed discussions for the successful execution of this national task.

It was clarified that the census will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India, and any negligence will not be tolerated. Addressing the officials, District Magistrate Dr. Lathar emphasized the need for complete transparency and seriousness in this sensitive and important undertaking.

He strictly instructed all concerned officials to demonstrate proactiveness in fulfilling their responsibilities and to ensure all arrangements, from the training of enumerators and supervisors to the availability of necessary materials, are completed within the stipulated timeframes. Identifying potential problems in advance and finding effective solutions was highlighted as an administration priority.

Timeline and Key Dates

Presenting the updated status of preparations, Census Officer Parkhi Bhargav stated that the work in the district has picked up pace. He provided detailed information, indicating that according to the set timeline, the formation of enumeration blocks will be completed by September 20, 2026.

Following this, the 'self-enumeration' process will take place from November 16 to November 30, 2026, during which citizens can fill in their information themselves. The main census work will be conducted from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027, with the reference date set for January 5, 2027.

Emphasis on Training and Public Awareness

The District Magistrate directed that training sessions should not be treated as mere formalities but undertaken with utmost seriousness. He stressed the importance of field staff having a clear and deep understanding of the census process to ensure accuracy in the work.

Additionally, the District Magistrate emphasized the necessity of launching a comprehensive publicity campaign to ensure active public participation. He stated that people will be made aware of the importance and process of the census through schools and educational institutions, encouraging their voluntary cooperation.

Present at the meeting were Chief Development Officer Vinod Kumar Gaud, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Arun Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrates Sweta Sahu and Abhishek Verma, District Economics and Statistics Officer Virendra Kumar, and other concerned departmental officials.

The District Magistrate also instructed for collaborative work and regular submission of progress reports, underscoring the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of information.
