Health Department to Prioritize Children Aged Zero to Five

The Farrukhabad district health department will place a special focus on the health of children aged zero to five years. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Anand Upadhyay has instructed the concerned health officials to ensure regular health monitoring of every child.

This initiative aims to detect any potential illnesses early and provide timely, appropriate treatment. Dr. Upadhyay issued detailed guidelines, emphasizing that timely vaccination, nutrition assessment, growth monitoring, and identification of common ailments are crucial responsibilities of the health department.

Health Monitoring and Treatment Arrangements

To effectively carry out these vital tasks, ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi workers have been directed to conduct door-to-door visits to collect information on children's health status. This will ensure comprehensive data collection and proactive health management.

CMO Dr. Upadhyay clarified that if any child shows symptoms of malnutrition, low weight, high fever, pneumonia, diarrhea, or any other health issue, they should be immediately taken to the nearest government health center for treatment. In severe cases, such children will be referred to a Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) or higher health institutions as needed.

Dr. Upadhyay stressed that regular and complete immunization, the importance of breastfeeding for infants, consumption of balanced complementary food, and personal hygiene practices play a significant role in protecting children from serious diseases. He expects health workers to continuously educate parents on these topics and provide them with necessary information.

Goal of Quality Healthcare Services

The Chief Medical Officer stated that the department's primary goal is to deliver quality healthcare services to every child through initiatives like the 'Dastak Abhiyan', routine immunization programs, and child health services. He directed officials to ensure that no eligible child misses out on vaccination or health check-ups.

Furthermore, these campaigns will be regularly monitored to maintain their effectiveness. Dr. Anand Upadhyay also made a special appeal to parents, urging them to get their children vaccinated according to the prescribed schedule from birth. He encouraged parents to contact government health institutions without delay if they notice any illness symptoms in their children and to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes run by the health department.
