Fake Land Record Leads to Rs 12 Lakh Agreement; Bareilly Police Arrest Three
Bareilly Police have busted a major forgery ring, arresting three individuals for creating a fraudulent land record and registering a Rs 12 lakh agreement.

Three Arrested in Land Forgery Case
The Bareilly Police have uncovered a significant fraud case in the Bithri Chainpur police station area, apprehending three individuals. These men are accused of forging a land record (Khatuni) by altering orders from the Tehsildar of Faridpur, and subsequently using this fake document to register an agreement worth Rs 12 lakh.
The arrests were made near the Nariyawal intersection based on a tip-off. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Shahadat Hussain (62), Pappu (36), and Islam (38). All are residents of the Bithri Chainpur police station area. The police have registered a case against them under sections 467, 468, 471, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, with case number 576/2025.
Fraudulent Agreement Registered
During police interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had manipulated government orders to create the fake land record. Using this forged document, they registered an agreement for Rs 12 lakh in favor of Ilyas Khan and others on June 12, 2023. The police have recorded the accused's confession as evidence in the case.
Criminal History and Further Investigation
It has also come to light that the arrested individuals have prior criminal records. Shahadat Hussain faces another case (crime number 179/2026) registered at the Bithri Chainpur police station. Similarly, Pappu is involved in case number 295/2024, and Islam also has ongoing cases at the Bithri Chainpur police station.
The police team responsible for the arrests included Station House Officer Rajesh Babu Mishra, Sub-Inspector Naresh Kumar, Constable Ankit Kumar, and Constable Ayush Bansal. After completing legal formalities, all three accused have been presented before the court. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to identify any other individuals involved in this fraud.
The police administration has issued a stern warning, vowing to continue taking strict action against those who tamper with government documents.
