Encroachment Removal Drive in Narsinghgarh Ahead of Sawan Mela

Civic Body and Police Launch Encroachment Drive

Two days before the commencement of the historic Sawan Mela, the Narsinghgarh Municipality and police administration launched a large-scale encroachment removal campaign in the city's main markets on Friday. The primary objective of this action was to ensure that devotees visiting the fair do not face any inconvenience and that traffic management remains smooth.

Led by Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Abhishek Jain and Station House Officer Gunja Solanki, the municipal staff and police force jointly removed temporary encroachments from roads and footpaths around Chhatri Chowk, Phool Market, Subhash Chowk, Bartan Bazaar, Masjid Area, and the Old Municipality Complex. During the drive, goods displayed on roads and footpaths, along with other encroached materials, were seized.

Ensuring Devotee Convenience and Traffic Flow

CMO Abhishek Jain stated that a large number of devotees arrive in Narsinghgarh annually for Sawan Mela to offer prayers to Lord Shiva and participate in various religious events. Considering this influx, it was crucial to maintain smooth traffic flow in the market and fair areas and provide easy passage for the devotees. He clarified that this encroachment removal drive will continue throughout the duration of the fair, and strict action will be taken against repeat offenders as per regulations.

He appealed to the residents and traders to keep their shop goods within the designated limits. He also urged them to cooperate with the administration in making the city clean, encroachment-free, and plastic-free. CMO Jain emphasized that the city's beauty and the convenience of devotees are collective responsibilities that need to be fulfilled seriously.

Stringent Arrangements for Fair Security and Management

The administration also conducted a detailed inspection of the fairgrounds on Friday morning to review the Sawan Mela arrangements. Necessary directives were issued to the concerned officials and staff during this inspection. To further strengthen security measures at the fair, CCTV cameras are being installed at various important locations to monitor all activities closely.

Additionally, special attention is being paid to all aspects such as sanitation, water supply, lighting, traffic control, and security to ensure the smooth functioning of the fair. It is noteworthy that for the second consecutive year, the Municipality is managing the Sawan Mela arrangements under the leadership of CMO Abhishek Jain. Last year too, the administration's efforts to manage the fair effectively were lauded by local citizens and devotees. Preparations are being made with the same seriousness and promptness this year.

Appreciation for Encroachment Removal and Arrangement Efforts

Local citizens and traders have praised the administration's timely efforts to remove encroachments and streamline fair arrangements. They believe that such prompt action will not only ensure smooth operations during the fair but also enhance the city's image. Efforts are being made to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties and can perform their religious duties with devotion.

The administration stated that the safety of devotees, smooth passage, and a clean environment are top priorities during the Sawan Mela. With this objective, along with encroachment removal, this campaign to make the city organized, clean, and safe will continue in the future.
