On-Site Inspection of High-Value Deeds
The Cliff News | Balrampur | August 25, 2026 Balrampur District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain conducted on-site inspections of high-value deeds to ensure transparency in the stamp and registration process and to curb tax evasion in the district. During the inspection, he assessed the actual condition of properties and directed officials to take stringent measures for the protection of revenue interests.
Inspection Details and Directives
The District Magistrate inspected two registered high-value deeds in Mahadev Mishra village, located in the semi-urban area falling under the Sadar Sub-Registrar office. Deed number 6395/2026, with a valuation of ₹3,21,57,000 and recorded as residential property, was physically examined. Additionally, deed number 6396/2026, valued at ₹10,27,02,000, which includes an Indian Oil petrol pump and a commercial complex, was also inspected. The District Magistrate compared the details recorded in the documents with the actual use of the property and also observed a residential house in the urban area adjacent to it.
Further Inspection and Action
As part of the inspection to assess the actual status of properties, the District Magistrate also conducted an on-site inspection of another property located in Mohalla Achalapur, Civil Lines, within the urban area. This property, registered under deed number 5995/2026, has a valuation of ₹4,73,83,000 and includes a two-story residential house and vacant land. The District Magistrate observed the site conditions and instructed that necessary action be ensured as per rules, based on the relevant records and the actual nature of the property.
Directives to Curb Tax Evasion
District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain directed the concerned officials to ensure regular on-site inspections of large-value deeds. The objective is to ensure that appropriate stamp duty is determined in accordance with the actual nature and use of the property. He emphasized that complete transparency must be maintained in the registration process, and the protection of the government's revenue interests should be the highest priority. He clarified that if, during an inspection, a case of revenue loss is found due to underpayment of stamp duty, discrepancies between the actual nature of the property and the recorded details, or any other irregularity, necessary action will be taken as per rules.
Continuous Monitoring and Revenue Protection
The District Magistrate instructed officials from the Stamp and Registration Department to effectively curb tax evasion and ensure the protection of government revenue through continuous monitoring and regular inspections of high-value properties and deeds. During the inspection, AIG Stamp Sunil Kumar and other concerned officials and employees were present.
