Burglary Solved, Suspect Arrested

The Dhanepur police station area in Gonda district has successfully cracked a significant theft case, leading to the arrest of one accused individual. This arrest comes in response to a series of burglaries in villagers' homes, which had caused widespread concern regarding security in the local community.

Complainants Niaz Ahmed and his relative Arif had filed a police report stating that upon returning from Mumbai, they discovered that wheat, rice, mustard, ceiling fans, and batteries had been stolen from their houses. During the initial investigation, they suspected Mohammad Rasheed, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Afakh, and Ramu, residents of Rudra Gadh Nousi village.

Suspect Apprehended with Stolen Property

Acting on a tip from an informant, police received information that the accused, Ramu son of Mewalal, was present near the cowshed on the road leading from Rudra Gadh Nousi village to Singhpur. Based on this intelligence, the Dhanepur police took swift action and arrested Ramu.

The police recovered two ceiling fans, 20 meters of electrical cable, one axe, and ₹1,220 in cash from the accused. This recovery is a significant step in solving the string of thefts.

Gang Involvement Revealed During Interrogation

Following his arrest, Ramu was interrogated by the police, during which he confessed to his involvement in the thefts. He revealed that he had targeted the homes of Niaz Ahmed and Arif along with his accomplices, Mohammad Rasheed, Mohammad Rizwan, and Mohammad Afakh.

The accused further admitted that they had gradually stolen the sacks of grain over several days and sold them to local shops. The money obtained from selling the stolen goods was then divided among all the accused. The recovered ₹1,220 is reportedly the share from selling the stolen grain.

The Dhanepur police have completed the legal proceedings and presented the arrested accused, Ramu, before the court, where he has been sent to judicial custody. The police are now actively searching for the other absconding accused, Mohammad Rasheed, Mohammad Rizwan, and Mohammad Afakh, and are conducting raids at potential hideouts to secure their arrest.

The apprehension of this gang is also expected to shed light on other ongoing theft incidents in the region.
