Permanent 108 Ambulance Urgently Needed at Balwada Hospital

The persistent absence of the 108 ambulance service at the Balwada Government Hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district has raised significant concerns among locals. For several months, the hospital has been without an ambulance, leading to severe difficulties in transporting critically ill patients and accident victims to other medical facilities for timely treatment.

Recognizing the gravity of this issue, the Press Club Balwada has submitted a memorandum to the Collector of Khargone, demanding the immediate and permanent placement of a 108 ambulance at the hospital. The memorandum explicitly states that the lack of an ambulance has put the lives of several critical patients at risk.

Past Incidents and Failed Assurances

The untimely deaths of two individuals in the Balwada region are a stark reminder of this critical shortage, as an ambulance could not be made available in time. In protest against these deaths, local residents had previously staged a road blockade on the Indore-Ichhapur National Highway. While the administration had assured swift action and the provision of an ambulance at that time, a permanent 108 ambulance has still not been arranged for the hospital.

Needs and Demands

According to residents, Balwada is a significant area with a large number of patients visiting the government hospital daily for treatment. Furthermore, road accidents are a frequent occurrence on the Indore-Ichhapur National Highway. Consequently, the availability of a 24-hour 108 ambulance at the Balwada Government Hospital has become extremely essential.

Prioritizing public welfare, the memorandum urges the Collector to arrange for a 108 ambulance on a permanent basis without delay. This will ensure that all patients receive timely medical assistance in the future and precious lives are saved. Copies of this memorandum have also been sent to the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Barwah, SDOP Barwah, Tehsildar Barwah, Station House Officer Balwada, and the Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Khargone, to expedite action on this matter.
