Damoh MP Lodhi Participates in 'One Tree in Mother's Name' Campaign

Massive Tree Plantation Drive Held in Marahar Village

Member of Parliament from Damoh, Rahul Singh Lodhi, was the chief guest at a large-scale tree plantation program held in Gram Panchayat Marahar on Sunday. The event was part of the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign.

Highlighting Environmental Protection and Public Participation

During the event, MP Lodhi planted 101 saplings within the Gram Panchayat premises. He emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and public participation in such initiatives.

"This campaign, run by the Central and State governments, is a significant step towards water conservation and environmental enrichment."

He further explained that while the 'Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan' focuses on conserving water sources during the summer, the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign emphasizes large-scale tree plantation during the monsoon season. Additionally, the 'Catch the Rain' campaign is ongoing to collect rainwater.

Call for Public Participation for Campaign Success

MP Rahul Singh Lodhi stressed that the true success of all these campaigns hinges on the active participation of the general public. He congratulated all the villagers and public representatives for planting 101 saplings in Gram Panchayat Marahar. He also urged them to pledge to protect the planted saplings.

District Targets 2.5 Million Saplings

District Forest Officer (DFO) Ishwar Zarande, who was present at the occasion, stated that the district has set a target of planting 2.5 million saplings this year. He noted that continuous plantation work is underway at approximately 100 different sites and the campaign is nearing its final phase. The DFO expressed confidence that the set target will be achieved soon.

The program saw the presence of a large number of public representatives, party officials, villagers, and forest department officials and staff, including District Panchayat President's representative Gaurav Patel, Mandal President Ramakant Bajpai, and District Panchayat member Dharmendra Patel.
