Five-Day Partheev शिवलिंग Construction Held in Damoh for Panchmukhi Lodheshwar Mahadev Jayanti

Damoh | August 8, 2026: A grand five-day Partheev शिवलिंग construction event has been organized in Nohata town, Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh, on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Panchmukhi Lodheshwar Mahadev. On the first day of this event, a large number of devotees participated at the Saty Narayan Temple complex and enthusiastically constructed Partheevashivlings.

Devotees performed special prayers and ablutions to Lord Bholenath using sacred materials such as belpatra, dhatura, bhang, camphor, milk, and bhasm. Following the construction and abhishek puja of the Shivlings, a grand aarti of Lord Shiva was organized in the temple complex. The entire village resonated with chants of 'Har-Har Mahadev' in a devotional atmosphere.

Subsequently, a procession of the constructed Partheevashivlings was taken out and immersed in the water stream of the Vyar Ma River. During this time, the entire area was immersed in the colors of Shiva devotion.

Religious Significance of Shivling Puja

During this occasion, the officiating Acharya, Pt. Umashankar Shastri, explained that Lord Shiva, the god of gods, is worshipped as a benevolent deity. He stated that performing abhishek of the Shivling during the month of Shravan is believed to fulfill many desires. This is precisely why the construction and worship of Partheevashivlings hold special significance during the month of Sawan.

He further elaborated that since ancient times, sages and ascetics have followed the practice of constructing and performing puja-abhishek of Partheevashivlings to please Lord Shiva. Partheevashivlings are made from soil or cow dung, which are forms of nature itself. It is believed that worshipping Shiva through this method leads to the attainment of wealth, progeny, and good health.

The holy month of Sawan is extremely dear to Lord Shiva, and therefore, the fruits of worship and abhishek performed during this month are manifold. The tradition of performing abhishek of Shivlings is very ancient and is described in various Puranic texts. Performing abhishek with water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar, and Ganga water yields different results.

Belpatra, dhatura, and aak flowers are extremely dear to Shiva, and offering them pleases the Lord. The event saw the significant presence of Acharya Pt. Shivam Tiwari, Lucky Gautam, Purushottam Dubey, and local villagers, who contributed to this religious ritual.

Through this five-day event, religious faith and devotion have been instilled in the local community. This festival holds not only religious importance but also promotes community unity and participation.
