JDA Contractual Reappointments Under Scrutiny

The reappointment of retired officers and employees on a contractual basis, instead of relieving them, by the Jabalpur Development Authority (JDA) has become a significant issue. The local Congress unit has raised questions about the legality and transparency of this process.

Officials from the Jabalpur Nagar Congress submitted a memorandum to the Authority Chairman, Sandeep Jain, demanding an impartial investigation. Led by Rizwan Ali Koti, spokesperson for the Nagar Congress Committee, the memorandum emphasizes the need for a thorough review of all appointments made post-retirement.

Demand for Transparency and Financial Accountability

The Congress party insists on making public the details of the procedures and rules followed for these contractual appointments. Rizwan Ali Koti stated that the Jabalpur Development Authority must clarify the total amount spent on salaries and honorariums for retired officials hired on contract.

He described the matter as one of institutional accountability and complete transparency, aiming to dispel any doubts about financial irregularities.

Concerns Over Youth Opportunities

The Congress has also expressed deep concern that repeatedly providing opportunities to retired individuals is diminishing the prospects for qualified and educated unemployed youth. The party believes that local young people should have fair opportunities to serve the authority based on their merit.

The memorandum further stipulates that if violations of government rules are found, strict action should be taken against those responsible. Other Congress officials present during the submission of the memorandum included Badal Panjwani, Kapil Bhojak, Zafar Khan, Ejaz Ansari, Sikandar Khan, and Shafi Khan.

The Authority Chairman is expected to take immediate cognizance of this matter and initiate the investigation process.
