Intensified Preparations for 2027 Census

Efforts are accelerating to ensure the seamless and timely execution of the second phase of the Census scheduled for 2027. In this regard, a special two-day training program has been organized for district and charge-level officials in the Balrampur district.

The primary objective of this training is to streamline the process of digital data collection during the upcoming census. Presiding over the training session held at the Collectorate auditorium, District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain stated that this national endeavor is of utmost importance, where accuracy and mutual coordination are paramount.

Digital Data Collection Underway

He extensively briefed the officials on the census work plan, the formation of enumeration blocks, and the intricacies of digital data compilation. The new methodology for the digital census will see the fieldwork in Uttar Pradesh commence from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027.

Approximately 5100 enumeration blocks have been created in the Balrampur district for this task. Enumerators appointed in all these blocks will collect information by visiting households using a mobile application. This year, the census process has been completely digitized, enhancing efficiency in data management and analysis.

Citizen Self-Enumeration Option Available

With the aim of making the census more inclusive, citizens will also be provided with a special option for self-enumeration. From December 16, 2026, to December 30, 2026, citizens can independently enter their own and their family's information.

The District Magistrate has ordered officials to ensure strict adherence to these directives. Highlighting this process as a comprehensive national task, he emphasized the need for mutual coordination at every level and the avoidance of any form of negligence.

Training and Coordination Emphasized

Representatives from the Directorate of Census, Lucknow, trained the officials on their responsibilities and the effective use of new technology during the training session. The Additional District Magistrate, District Informatics Officer, District Statistics Officer, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, Executive Officers, and relevant departmental employees were present on this occasion.

The District Magistrate expects all officials to work collaboratively with their subordinate staff to complete the action plan within the stipulated timeframe. This process will prove to be a significant step towards digitizing demographic data in the district. All concerned departments have been instructed to maintain mutual coordination to ensure the work is completed within the designated period.
