Bhind: Licenses of 9 Medical Stores Suspended Amidst crackdown on Illegal Drugs
The administration in Bhind has suspended the licenses of 9 medical stores for violating drug regulations and failing to provide satisfactory responses to notices.

Administration Takes Strict Stance Against Illegal Drug Operations
In Bhind district, the administration has adopted a firm approach against those compromising patient health. Following directives from Collector Kirodilal Meena and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. JS Yadav, Drug Inspector Dr. Akanksha Garud has intensified action against medical establishments involved in the illegal purchase and sale of drugs and disregard for regulations across the district.
As part of this crackdown, the licenses of 9 medical stores have been immediately suspended for failing to provide satisfactory responses to previously issued notices. This action effectively halts all forms of purchase and sale activities by these establishments.
Surprise Inspections and Strict Directives in Phoop Area
Drug Inspector Dr. Akanksha Garud conducted surprise inspections and thorough checks at several medical stores in the Phoop area. During these inspections, establishments such as Vikas Medical Agency, Mahavir Medical Store, Govind Medical Store, Ashok Medical Store, Abhai Medical Store, another Mahavir Medical Store, and Jain Medical Store were closely examined.
The inspection focused on critical points including the validity of store licenses, expiry dates of medicines, and the presence of registered pharmacists. Dr. Garud issued clear instructions to the operators of medical stores in the Phoop area, emphasizing that the operation of any medical store without a registered pharmacist would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
She strictly advised maintaining accurate records for the purchase and sale of drugs used as narcotics and strictly prohibited the sale of scheduled drugs without a doctor's prescription. These directives aim to curb the distribution of illegal drugs and ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulations.
Suspension Action Taken Due to Unsatisfactory Responses
To curb the serious irregularities found in the drug market, the Drug Inspector has taken punitive action against 9 medical stores in the district. Dr. Akanksha Garud stated that significant deficiencies were found during inspections of several medical stores in Mihona, Lahaur, Raun, Pithampura, and Gohad in the past. Notices were issued to the concerned store operators regarding these deficiencies, seeking satisfactory explanations.
Due to the failure of the store operators to provide satisfactory answers within the stipulated time, this stringent action has been taken. The 9 medical stores whose licenses have been suspended include Girraj Medical Store and Sheela Medical Store in Mihona, Vinay Medical Store, Shree Ganesh Medical Store, and Maa Sharda Medical Store in Lahaur, Vidhi Medical Store in Raun, Narvariya Drug House in Pithampura, and Raj Medical Store and Anil Medical Store in Gohad.
During the suspension period, all forms of medicinal purchase and sale activities by these establishments will be completely prohibited.
Continued Strict Action Against Illegal Trade
On this occasion, Drug Inspector Dr. Akanksha Garud clarified that similar strict legal actions will continue in the future against those who jeopardize patient health and violate the rules of the Drug Act. This step by the administration is a significant effort towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the pharmaceutical market.
