Bhind District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Virsingh Chauhan conducted a surprise inspection of Gram Panchayat Soni in Janpad Panchayat Mehgaon. Following the discovery of various administrative and systemic deficiencies, he has ordered the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the Gram Panchayat's Secretary, Gram Rozgar Sahayak (GRS), and Sarpanch.
During the inspection, the Gram Panchayat building was found to be closed for several days, and the premises were observed to be unkempt and dirty. In response to these irregularities, CEO Chauhan directed officials to provide immediate explanations and present action plans.
Accountability for Lapses
CEO Chauhan held the concerned officials accountable for the unavailability of records, slow progress in tax collection, and the complete lack of advancement in construction work under the VB-Giram-ji scheme. He emphasized the need for immediate corrective measures to address these issues.
Instructions for Improvement
CEO Virsingh Chauhan has instructed the CEO of Janpad Panchayat Mehgaon to ensure necessary action is taken in this matter. He made it clear that the concerned Secretary, GRS, and Sarpanch will be held responsible for their negligence and appropriate disciplinary action will be pursued against them.
The CEO also stressed the importance of improving sanitation within the Gram Panchayat, ensuring proper maintenance of records, and expediting the completion of pending construction projects. The district of Bhind has a total of 447 Gram Panchayats, and the serious deficiencies found in Gram Panchayat Soni raise questions about the efficiency of local administration.
