Balrampur Police Apprehend Murder Accused After Ten-Year Fugitive Status

Decade-Long Fugitive Caught in Balrampur

The Balrampur district police have achieved a major success by arresting an accused who had been on the run for a decade. The accused, identified as Ram Manorath alias Ramman, was apprehended on Monday from Girgatahi village in Shankarpur.

This arrest is a result of a special campaign launched against wanted criminals, as directed by the Superintendent of Police. According to information, a case was registered against Ram Manorath in 2016 at the Harraiya police station under the POCSO Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (363, 366, 376).

The accused was declared a fugitive on November 20, 2016, and had been evading legal action ever since. After a long gap of ten years, acting on a tip-off from an informant, the police finally apprehended him at his hideout.

Manhunt for Criminals Intensifies

Under the orders of Superintendent of Police Martand Prakash Singh, the campaign to apprehend criminals across the district has been intensified. The objective of this special drive is to arrest all accused who are wanted in various cases and are absconding from police custody.

Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey and Circle Officer Laliya D.K. Srivastava, an active team from the Harraiya police station executed this significant arrest. The team was led by Station House Officer Anil Kumar Singh.

Other members of the team included Senior Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh, Head Constable Mahmood Ali, and Constable Rajesh Chaurasia. These officers successfully apprehended Ram Manorath, who had been a fugitive for ten years, through their intelligence and tireless efforts. This arrest is considered a major achievement for the police, as apprehending such absconding accused is often challenging.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Following his arrest, the police have completed all necessary legal formalities against the accused, Ram Manorath alias Ramman, including medical examination and other procedures. He will now be presented before the court for further legal action.

The police administration stated that the court will hear the case, and the accused will be punished for his crimes. They further clarified that such actions will continue to be taken with the aim of resolving pending cases and establishing the rule of law in society. Police teams are also actively searching for other absconding criminals across the district and are gathering related information.

This arrest has once again reinforced the police's activeness and operational effectiveness in the region, strengthening the sense of security among the general public.
