Judicial Work to Resume Following Strike End

Balrampur advocates have concluded their indefinite strike. In a significant general assembly held on Tuesday by the Joint Bar Association, a unanimous decision was reached to resume normal judicial operations in the courts starting tomorrow, October 28, 2026. This decision follows successful talks with the district administration, which provided concrete assurances regarding the safety and respect of the advocates.

The conclusions of the recent discussions with district officials were presented to the members of the Joint Bar Association's general assembly. Administrative officers reiterated their commitment to ensuring respect and safety for advocates, assuring that any form of inappropriate behavior would be prevented and better coordination would be established with lawyers.

District Magistrate's Assurance Leads to Strike Withdrawal

During the meeting held at the Bar Association building in Balrampur, advocates took the assurances provided by the administration seriously. It was acknowledged that their legitimate demands had been addressed, and administrative sensitivity would be exercised to prevent future incidents. The presidents of the three associations, Murtaza Hussain, Kamleshwar Singh, and Mrigendra Upadhyay, appealed to all fellow advocates to report to court on time and fulfill their legal duties.

The general assembly meeting, which saw a large gathering of advocates at the Bar Association building, primarily discussed the events that led to the strike's commencement. Members detailed their concerns and demands, after which a delegation met with the District Magistrate. This meeting proved to be highly fruitful, as the district administration pledged to take all necessary steps, prioritizing advocates' professional rights and personal security.

This assurance included strict measures to prevent the recurrence of any untoward incidents in the future. Following this positive response from the administrative level, advocates expressed strong support for withdrawing the strike during their deliberations. The decision was made unanimously, reflecting the unity among lawyers and their commitment to the smooth functioning of the justice system. Advocates expressed gratitude for the cooperative attitude of the district officials and reaffirmed their resolve to maintain the efficient operation of the justice system and continue working in the public interest. With this decision, the advocate community can now actively participate in their regular activities, which is expected to expedite the resolution of pending cases.
