Adulterated Ghee Seized in Bhind, Two Shops Sealed

Food Safety Raids in Bhind and Mehgaon

As part of a special campaign to ensure the availability of pure milk and dairy products in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh, food safety and administration teams conducted large-scale surprise inspections and raids in the city and Mehgaon. During this action, 300 kg of suspected ghee, valued at approximately ₹2 lakh, was seized from Sushil Jain Ghee Bhandar, while two shops operating without food registration were immediately sealed.

Inspection and Seizure at Sushil Jain Ghee Bhandar

On Tuesday, a team led by Food Safety Officer Kiran Sengar inspected food establishments in Bhind city. The quality of ghee at Sushil Jain Ghee Bhandar, located in Joshi Nagar, Itawa Road, was tested on-site using a mobile food laboratory. Following confirmation of adulteration in the preliminary examination, a statutory sample of the ghee was collected.

Approximately 300 kg of suspected ghee, with an estimated value of ₹2 lakh, was seized from the shop. The establishment was immediately shut down due to the operator lacking mandatory food registration.

Action Taken on CM Helpline Complaints

Acting on complaints received through the CM Helpline, the team also inspected Pandit Kirana Store in Seva Nagar. This business was also found to be operating without food registration. Food safety officials took strict action, ordering the closure of the shop.

Milk Product Sampling in Mehgaon

Meanwhile, a rigorous checking campaign was also carried out in the Mehgaon area under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Rekha Soni. Four different samples of milk were collected from milk vendor Sher Singh's Gurukripa Milk Dairy.

Additionally, samples of various food items, including milk, curd, mawa, ghee, paneer, besan laddoo, and toast, were collected from Gokul Mishthan Bhandar located on AB Road for testing.

Samples Sent to Bhopal for Testing

Food Safety Officer Kiran Sengar stated that all collected food samples are being sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal for detailed examination of their quality and standard levels.

She further clarified that strict legal action will be taken against adulterators and those violating the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
