'Adipurush' Writer Admits Film Failed, Praises Yash's Ravana

'Adipurush' writer Manoj Muntashir has openly admitted that his film did not meet audience expectations, stating there is "no shame in admitting it failed." Speaking in Mumbai on Tuesday, Muntashir also extended his best wishes to Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming project, 'Ramayana', urging a halt to comparisons between the two cinematic interpretations of the epic.

The acclaimed lyricist and writer specifically lauded actor Yash for his portrayal of Ravana in Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. "Yash is a very good actor, and there is no doubt in this," Muntashir commented, adding his support for any film that brings India's stories to a global audience. "I have a lot of best wishes for 'Ramayana'."

'Adipurush' Failure Acknowledged

Addressing the inevitable comparisons between 'Adipurush' and the forthcoming 'Ramayana', Muntashir emphasized the importance of distinguishing between the two. He stated that it is "better not to compare 'Ramayana' with 'Adipurush'." Muntashir candidly acknowledged the shortcomings of his film, "People who are associated with the film made it with a lot of effort, but it was a failed attempt."

Music's Success and Future Hopes

Despite the film's narrative and execution drawing criticism, Muntashir expressed pride in the music of 'Adipurush', noting its significant popularity. "I am very proud that 'Adipurush's music has reached the people. The film's music is a big hit," he said. He concluded by expressing a hope that the musical aspect of 'Ramayana' would not only match but surpass the success of 'Adipurush's' soundtrack.
