47 Police and Home Guard Personnel to Receive Presidential Medals on Independence Day

Presidential Medals for Service and Bravery to be Awarded

On this Independence Day, August 15th, in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will present Presidential Medals for Distinguished Service and Commendable Service to 47 police and Home Guard officers and personnel at a grand investiture ceremony at Lal Parade Ground.

Two individuals will also be decorated with the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak for demonstrating exceptional courage. This ceremony marks a significant occasion to recognize the dedication, loyalty, and extraordinary services of the state's police force members.

Medals for Police Force

The Presidential Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded to officers who have performed exceptionally and excellently during their service tenure. In contrast, the Medal for Commendable Service is presented to personnel who have carried out their duties in an extremely praiseworthy manner.

42 Medals for Police Personnel

Out of a total of 47 medals, 42 are designated for police officers and personnel from the state. Among these, nine officers will be honored with the Presidential Medal for Distinguished Service, recognizing their particularly outstanding service within the police force.

Along with the police force, three Home Guard officers and personnel will also be awarded the Presidential Medal for Commendable Service. These jawans highlight the significant role of the Home Guard in maintaining the state's security and law and order.

Two to be Conferred with Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak

This year, two individuals will be honored with the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak for their extraordinary courage and life-saving actions. One of these medals will be awarded posthumously.

Shri Manohar Singh Chauhan, Mandasaur District, will receive this honor posthumously. Meanwhile, Shri Rajendra Prasad Mishra, Acting Assistant Sub-Inspector, Damoh District, will be presented with this prestigious medal for his life-saving actions.

This medal underscores the courage and dedication of individuals who have risked their lives to protect others.
