CMO Inspects Shastri Colony Waterlogging Issue

Acting on persistent complaints from residents of Shastri Colony in Ward No. 9, Bhind, Municipal Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Virendra Chakravarti has taken serious note of the ongoing waterlogging problem. Following directives from Collector Kirodi Lal Meena, the CMO conducted an unscheduled inspection of the colony on Sunday, accompanied by Assistant Engineer Pradeep Bhadauria, to assess the situation.

During the inspection, CMO Chakravarti identified the lack of an effective drainage system as the primary cause of the waterlogging in Shastri Colony. Many local residents have constructed concrete steps and ramps over drains for their convenience, completely obstructing the natural flow of water from their homes.

Permanent Drainage System Mandated

The CMO, expressing displeasure with the current state, ordered the on-site staff to ensure immediate drainage of the stagnant water. He has instructed Assistant Engineer Pradeep Bhadauria to prepare a detailed plan for a permanent drainage system for Shastri Colony as soon as possible.

Stern Warning Issued for Illegal Excavation

The inspection team also noticed a large pit dug on a public pathway at the colony's main intersection. This pit was excavated by an individual named Rajesh Kumar Sharma for tube well drilling without the municipality's permission, causing obstruction to traffic.

CMO Virendra Chakravarti expressed strong disapproval and has given the individual two days to fill the pit and restore the pathway. He issued a clear warning that any such future action will result in strict punitive legal proceedings.

Residents Assured of Permanent Solution

Local residents have expressed satisfaction with the authorities' swift acknowledgment of this critical issue. CMO Virendra Chakravarti assured them that a permanent solution to the ward residents' problem will be found promptly.

He reiterated that encroachments on drains will be removed without fail, and strict action will be taken against those who obstruct public pathways.
