Road Accident Claims Life in Fatehganj Western

A tragic road accident occurred on Friday evening in the Fatehganj Western police station area of Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh. A horrific head-on collision between an uncontrolled pickup truck and an auto-rickshaw near ANA College resulted in the death of one auto-rickshaw passenger during treatment and left three others critically injured.

Details of the Incident

The incident took place as the auto-rickshaw, carrying passengers, was en route to Sheeshgarh. According to eyewitnesses, an uncontrolled pickup truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into the auto-rickshaw with great force. The collision was so severe that it caused panic and screams among the passengers inside the auto.

Injuries and Fatalities

Three passengers in the auto-rickshaw sustained severe injuries. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and promptly arranged for the injured to be admitted to a private hospital in Bareilly with the help of an ambulance. At the hospital, doctors declared Nazim, a resident of Sheeshgarh, dead, who succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Additionally, Ankit Kumar and Ruchi, daughter of Mohan Swaroop, both residents of Basai village in Thana Shahi, were also seriously injured in the accident. Several other passengers were also reported to have sustained injuries.

Police Action and Investigation

The police have taken possession of Nazim's body and sent it for post-mortem examination, initiating further legal proceedings. The police also seized both the damaged vehicles, the pickup truck and the auto-rickshaw, placing them at the police station premises. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The local community is in deep shock following this incident. Preliminary investigations suggest the pickup truck was speeding and may have lost control, leading to the devastating collision. This accident has once again raised questions about traffic safety in the region.

Local residents have urged the administration to take strict measures to curb speeding and dangerous driving on the roads. Accidents of this nature have occurred previously in the Fatehganj Western area, indicating violations of traffic rules and poor road conditions. Locals have pointed out that the road near ANA College often becomes dangerous due to high vehicle speeds.

Police officials stated that they are conducting a detailed inquiry into the accident's causes and assured that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found responsible.
