Addressing a press conference, BJP National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi questioned the authenticity and sources of the reports cited by Gandhi.

Questioning the Basis of Allegations

Rahul Gandhi had leveled serious accusations on September 24 regarding the Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and voter list procedures. Linking alleged irregularities in the electoral process to "vote theft," he claimed to possess sufficient evidence to support his assertions.

Demand for Source Clarity on Reports

Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that it is crucial for Rahul Gandhi to clarify the basis and sources of the reports he is using to question the Election Commission's functioning. He specifically inquired whether the mentioned reports contain any direct statements from an election commissioner.

According to the BJP leader, if no direct statement from the concerned election commissioner is available, then conclusions drawn from such reports are naturally open to question. This dispute has intensified following media reports about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and alleged internal disagreements within the Election Commission.

Election Commission's Stance on Internal Deliberations

These reports claimed that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had voiced objections to several key commission decisions over the past ten months. In response, the Election Commission clarified that these remarks and disagreements are part of the commission's normal internal deliberation process.

The commission also emphasized that all its decisions, including the SIR, have been made unanimously with the approval of all three election commissioners. Sudhanshu Trivedi also addressed Rahul Gandhi's argument on anti-incumbency, stressing the need to view Indian politics in a broader historical context.
