Training Begins for 46th DSP Batch at Madhya Pradesh Police Academy

Foundational Training for 46th DSP Batch Inaugurated

The Madhya Pradesh Police Academy in Bhopal marked the grand inauguration of the foundational training for the 46th Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) batch on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The opening session was presided over by the Academy's Director/Special Director General of Police, Shri Ravi Kumar Gupta, who addressed the trainee officers.

A Step Towards Modern Policing

This training program represents a significant step towards fostering modern, sensitive, and effective policing. The newly formed training batch comprises a total of 17 Deputy Superintendents of Police, with 6 male and 11 female officers undergoing training. This figure also highlights the increased participation of women officers, strengthening diversity within the police force.

Training Agenda Focused on Modern Policing

In his address, Shri Ravi Kumar Gupta emphasized the essential qualities of a skilled police officer. He stated that an effective officer must not only be an excellent listener but also develop a deep understanding of fieldwork, possess excellent management capabilities, administrative decision-making skills, the ability to maintain law and order, and proficiency in scientifically investigating crimes.

He inspired the trainees to make discipline, integrity, and assisting the needy the core tenets of their service.

Director Gupta placed special emphasis on adopting innovation and modern technologies in line with evolving circumstances, to make policing more effective and results-oriented. He also underscored that the training curriculum incorporates novel and relevant subjects, considering the requirements of modern, technology-based, and people-centric policing alongside the fundamental knowledge of traditional policing.

Comprehensive Training Curriculum

The training curriculum for the 46th DSP batch has been comprehensively designed to confront modern challenges. It includes several critical subjects such as 'Modern India and Police System', 'Indian Constitution and Human Rights', 'Ethics and Morality', 'Criminology', 'Personality Development and Human Behavior', 'Management and Police Work', 'Law and Order', 'Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)', 'Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)', 'Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)', 'Crime Investigation', and 'Effective Policing'. This curriculum will equip trainees with the latest legal provisions and investigation techniques.

Present on the occasion were the Academy's Deputy Director, Shri Ramji Shrivastava, Assistant Director (Training), Smt. Rashmi Pandey, Assistant Director and In-charge Superintendent of Police, PTS Bhopal, Smt. Yasmeen Zehra, along with other senior officers of the academy, academy staff, and trainee officers from the 45th and 46th Deputy Superintendent of Police batches.
