Gang Dismantled, Thieves Apprehended

Bareilly police have successfully busted a gang of thieves targeting locked houses in the Civil Lines area, arresting three notorious individuals. In a significant achievement, police have recovered 100% of the stolen goods from the accused.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Shadab alias Anas, Rahman, and Arman, reportedly residents of the Kila police station area. They are accused of breaking into the house of one Ramanresh on October 17th and stealing jewelry and other valuables.

Surveillance and Arrest Operation

The arrest was made on October 26th by a team from Kotwali police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (City) Chirag Jain. The trio was apprehended near Railway Colony under suspicious circumstances along with a motorcycle.

Initial investigations revealed that the gang would surveil isolated and locked houses from a motorcycle. One member would enter the house to commit the theft, while the other two kept watch outside, alerting them to any potential danger. To evade identification, the accused often covered their motorcycle's number plate with stickers.

Recovery and Legal Action

Police have recovered four rings, earrings, a nose ring, a maangtika, a chain, a watch, and three mobile phones from the accused. The motorcycle used in the crime has also been seized.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under sections 317(2), 317(4), and 331(1) of the Indian Penal Code. It has also been revealed that Mohammad Shadab and Arman have prior criminal records, which are currently under further investigation by the police.

The Kotwali in-charge, Rajiv Kumar Singh, and his team were instrumental in this arrest. The accused are currently being processed for jail, and the recovered jewelry will be returned to the victim, Ramanresh, after legal formalities are completed. Police are continuing to interrogate the suspects to determine if they were involved in any other incidents.
