Faith Flows Like the Ganges on Guru Purnima in Farrukhabad
The holy occasion of Guru Purnima saw an outpouring of devotion in Farrukhabad district, with devotees flocking to various Ganges ghats since last night. Millions of devotees took a holy dip in the sacred river, seeking blessings from their gurus.
Massive Turnout at Major Ghats
Major bathing spots including Panchal Ghat, Bargadiya Ghat, Shrangirampur, Dhai Ghat, and Rani Ghat witnessed huge crowds of pilgrims. Devotees from neighboring districts such as Hardoi, Shajahanpur, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Kannauj, and Etah also participated in the sacred ritual.
Rituals and Offerings
Following their holy bath, devotees performed rituals and offered prayers, seeking blessings from their respective spiritual guides. Many ghats hosted recitations of the Lord Shri Satyanarayan Katha, which devotees listened to attentively and offered donations according to their faith.
Security and Traffic Arrangements
Robust security measures were in place across all Ganges ghats to manage the massive influx of people. Police forces were deployed, and teams of divers remained on alert, with continuous monitoring of ghats via boats (flat units) to prevent any untoward incidents.
Traffic Challenges and Management
Recent construction work on the Panchal Ghat bridge led to the installation of dividers, causing minor traffic disruptions and partial jams. Traffic police personnel and the Panchalghat outpost in-charge worked diligently to manage vehicle flow, minimizing inconvenience for the devotees.
