Health Services Deemed Satisfactory During Surprise Inspection

The quality of health services at the Government Hospital in Ruthiyai, Guna district, was found to be satisfactory during a surprise inspection today. Acting on the directives of Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal, SDM Raghougarh Amit Soni visited the hospital and engaged in direct dialogue with patients and their families.

During the inspection, patients lauded the quality and timely availability of food provided, and expressed satisfaction with the treatment arrangements. SDM Soni meticulously observed various sections of the hospital, including wards, OPD, pathology, the medicine distribution room, and records.

Identified Deficiencies and Rectification Orders

However, the inspection also revealed certain systemic deficiencies. Key among these were a shortage of bedsheets, the need for improved cleanliness in the premises and wards, and ensuring the regular attendance of pathology staff. In response to these issues, SDM Soni issued strict directives to the concerned officials for immediate corrective action.

Medication Availability and Health Monitoring

The SDM also reviewed the availability of medicines at the hospital. The assessment confirmed that essential life-saving drugs such as anti-rabies vaccine and anti-snake venom (ASV) were adequately stocked. It was also noted with satisfaction that there were no active cases of malaria or dengue currently recorded in the hospital area, indicative of effective health monitoring.

To understand the patient experience and hospital management's response, SDM Soni spoke directly with admitted patients. He inquired in detail about the facilities being provided, including cleanliness, food quality, medicines, and medical advice. The majority of patients expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the hospital administration, particularly giving positive feedback on the quality and timely availability of food. Patients also reported satisfactory experiences with their treatment, offering a clear picture of the current state of health services.

Orders for Immediate Improvement of Systemic Deficiencies

Nevertheless, the inspection highlighted certain systemic deficiencies that required immediate attention. SDM Soni observed that there was an insufficient supply of bedsheets on the hospital beds. Furthermore, there was scope for improvement in the level of cleanliness within the hospital premises and wards. The regular attendance of staff in the pathology department was another area identified for improvement.

Based on these observations, SDM Soni issued clear and strict instructions to the relevant officials to take immediate corrective action to address these shortcomings. He emphasised that all health officials and staff must ensure their timely presence. Regular review of the medicine distribution system and continuous monitoring of the availability of essential medicines were also mandated.

Emphasis on Quality Healthcare Services

SDM Soni gave explicit instructions for the regular provision of clean bedsheets on all hospital beds. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring the timely attendance of all health officers and employees. The aim is to continuously provide better, safer, and quality healthcare services to the general public through these measures.

He also stressed that all health personnel should be present on duty on time to prevent any inconvenience to patients. Directives were also issued for the regular review of the medicine distribution system and continuous monitoring of the availability of essential medicines. It will be ensured that all necessary life-saving drugs, such as anti-rabies vaccine and anti-snake venom, are always in stock to handle emergency situations.
