SpaceX Sets New Annual Launch Record with 146 Missions in 2025

SpaceX has broken its own annual launch record after a Falcon 9 rocket successfully lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 8:31 p.m. EST on Tuesday, carrying 29 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit.

The launch brings SpaceX’s 2025 total to 146 missions, surpassing last year’s tally of 138. Of these, 141 were Falcon 9 launches, while the company also conducted five Starship suborbital test flights. The milestone marks a dramatic rise from 2019, when SpaceX achieved only 13 orbital launches.

Starlink Drives Record-Breaking Pace

Starlink has been the driving force behind SpaceX’s launch surge. Over 100 missions this year have carried Starlink satellites, rapidly expanding the global broadband network. Following Tuesday’s deployment, more than 8,800 active Starlink satellites are now in orbit, providing internet service across multiple countries.

Reusable Rocket Milestone

The Falcon 9 booster used for this mission, B1094, completed its fifth flight. It previously supported two crewed missions and one cargo resupply flight to the International Space Station, along with an earlier Starlink mission — showcasing SpaceX’s growing efficiency in rocket reuse.
