Deadline Looms for Sugarcane Committee Registration and Yield Benefits

Farmers have just seven days remaining to register with sugarcane committees for the upcoming crushing season 2026-27 and avail themselves of yield enhancement benefits. The Department of Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development has set the deadline for September 30, 2026.

Any applications submitted after this stipulated date will not be accepted, potentially causing farmers to miss out on crucial yield increase benefits. Across the state, sugarcane committees are currently hosting 'Satta Exhibition Fairs'.

Purpose of Satta Fairs

These fairs are designed to provide farmers with detailed information regarding their sugarcane acreage, 'satta' (registration/allocation), and supply records. Farmers are being given the opportunity to verify their records and rectify any discrepancies immediately.

The department strongly urges all sugarcane farmers to visit their respective committees before the September 30 deadline to meticulously check all their documentation.

Eligibility for Benefits

According to departmental guidelines, only those farmers who have obtained new membership with a sugarcane committee by September 30 will be permitted to supply their sugarcane yield to sugar mills in the 2026-27 crushing season.

Furthermore, farmers whose sugarcane yield surpasses their district's average yield are also required to apply in a timely manner to qualify for these benefits. The department has clarified that no applications related to yield increase will be considered after the deadline.

Special efforts are underway, with the cooperation of elected representatives, to make farmers aware of these important dates and procedures. The department also announced that for any technical issues or assistance, farmers can contact the toll-free Kisan Call Centre at 1800-121-3203.
