Bus Driver Targeted in Ambush

Gwalior, September 12, 2026 - A brazen daylight attack targeted a school bus driver in the Pichhor police station area of Gwalior district. The driver, Khem Singh Yadav, operating a bus for Glorious School Tekanpur, was intercepted near the warehouse culvert in Salaiya village by assailants in a Swift car.

The attackers allegedly used the guise of asking the bus helper to push the vehicle, coercing Khem Singh Yadav to exit the bus. As he stepped out, the individuals in the car fired two to three shots at him with a country-made pistol, inflicting injuries.

Revenge Motive Uncovered

Preliminary police investigations and interrogations have revealed that the attack was fueled by an old enmity. One of the arrested accused, Arjun alias Bhima Yadav, believed that his brother, Shri Krishna Yadav, died in a road accident in 2022. He alleged that Khem Singh Yadav had fled the scene after injuring his brother.

Driven by a desire for retribution, Arjun and his associates allegedly planned this fatal assault to avenge the 2022 incident.

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests

Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams, under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmveer Singh, initiated immediate action. CCTV footage from the vicinity was scoured to identify the suspects, and intelligence from informants proved crucial.

Acting on precise information, police set up a cordon near Nakka Chandbadni and successfully apprehended three accused along with the Swift car. The arrested individuals have been identified as Arjun alias Bhima Yadav, Abhishek Yadav, and Shivam Yadav. They have confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Search Continues for Fourth Suspect

While three individuals are in custody, the police are actively searching for a fourth accomplice, Rahul Yadav. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the absconding suspect, who is expected to be apprehended soon.

The operation involved the Crime Branch, local police station in-charges, and the Cyber Cell, all playing vital roles in evidence collection and pursuing leads on the suspects' whereabouts.

Driver's Condition and Legal Proceedings

The injured bus driver, Khem Singh Yadav, is receiving treatment at a hospital in Dabra, where his condition is being closely monitored by doctors.

The police have registered a case against the arrested accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are continuing their investigation. The criminal history of the arrested individuals and the source of the illegal firearms recovered are also under scrutiny. Initial findings indicate that Abhishek Yadav and Shivam Yadav have prior cases registered against them at various police stations.
