Sadhana Crowned 'Hariyali Queen' at Teej Festival, Emphasis on Cultural Preservation

Celebration and Cultural Preservation Mark Hariyali Teej Festival

The month of Sawan is filled with festivity and joy. In keeping with this spirit, the Nari Gaurav organization celebrated Hariyali Teej with great fanfare at Minal Residency in Bhopal. Approximately 65 women participated enthusiastically, celebrating the festival's happiness through traditional songs, dances, and various competitions.

This year's event not only blended traditional joy but also placed a special focus on understanding and preserving Indian culture and Sanatan traditions. A quiz competition on the significance of the Teej festival and other Indian fasts and festivals was organized during the program.

The primary objective was to educate women about our ancient traditions, their religious importance, and the social messages associated with them, ensuring that the younger generation remains connected to its cultural roots.

'Hariyali Queen' Competition Captivates Audience

The most captivating moment of the Hariyali Teej festival was the 'Hariyali Queen' competition. In this contest, Sadhana Sinha was crowned 'Hariyali Queen' for her unique style and traditional adornment. Sadhana wore over 35 items in shades of green, including traditional attire, anklets, and toe rings.

Her 'solah shringar' (sixteen types of adornment) and presentation enchanted all the spectators. Additionally, women showcased their talent in the 'Solah Shringar' competition, with Manju Tomar, Priyanka Sharma, and Neelam emerging as winners.

The judges, Hemlata Rajput and Priyanka Bhatia, evaluated the women's presentations and appreciated their artistry.

Preserving Culture and Engaging the New Generation

The chief guest, Councilor Shiromani Sharma, extended her Hariyali Teej wishes to all the women. In her address, she stated that festivals like Teej are not just occasions for celebration but also serve as a medium to strengthen Indian culture and family traditions.

Councilor Sharma emphasized that Indian festivals hold not only joy but also a deep message of family, nature, values, and social harmony. She added that in today's modern era, the importance of such events increases, aiming to keep our younger generation connected to our culture and traditions.

Abhilasha Srivastava, the founder of Nari Gaurav organization, highlighted the cultural significance of Hariyali Teej. She explained that this festival is not limited to women's adornment and joy but symbolizes women's power, good fortune, and family well-being in Indian culture.

Gifts for the winners of various competitions were distributed by Pooja Bhatia. Amidst melodious Sawan songs, energetic dances, and traditional activities, the women thoroughly enjoyed the entire celebration.

The entire atmosphere of Minal Residency was adorned with the color green and the vibrancy of Indian culture. The founders of Nari Gaurav organization, Abhilasha Srivastava, Kavita Srivastava, and Asha Raghav, reiterated their commitment to organizing similar cultural, social, and awareness-focused programs in the future.
