Ram Temple Theft Allegations Surface

A prominent Samajwadi Party leader from Ayodhya, Pawan Pandey, has put forth startling allegations regarding financial irregularities at the Ram Temple. He claims the purported theft only came to light when those involved in the alleged loot had a significant disagreement over how to divide the money.

Pandey asserts that the recovery of Rs 80 lakh from a garbage dump, along with cash found elsewhere, serves as substantial evidence of wrongdoing. He has also voiced strong skepticism regarding the credibility of the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe.

SP Leader Details Allegations

Speaking on a special podcast, Pawan Pandey detailed his initial awareness of the alleged financial discrepancies within the temple. He stated that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was instrumental in bringing these issues to light.

According to Pandey, Yadav had received prior information about alleged irregularities at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Yadav then contacted Pandey to verify these claims, asking specifically about offerings, jewelry, and large-scale irregularities.

“He asked whether offerings, jewellery and large-scale irregularities had taken place. I told him that everything was absolutely true,” Pandey recounted.

Akhilesh Yadav's Role in Exposure

Pawan Pandey claims that Akhilesh Yadav was the first to publicly address the alleged theft. Yadav reportedly posted about the purported irregularities on X on June 7, which subsequently garnered nationwide attention.

Pandey further suggested that it was divine will that enabled Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to expose these matters. He also commented on the resignations of several senior temple trust officials, questioning the circumstances surrounding them.

Call for Supreme Court Intervention

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current investigation, Pawan Pandey has urged the Supreme Court to order a court-monitored investigation into the allegations. He believes this is crucial to ensure a thorough and impartial examination of the claims.

Pandey also alleged that trust officials had been suppressing information about irregularities for an extended period. He has directly questioned the validity of the SIT probe, deeming it unreliable.

What to Watch Next

Future developments will likely focus on the response from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the government to these allegations. The Supreme Court's potential involvement and the outcome of any further investigations will be closely watched.
