Ram Mandir Donation Controversy: Opposition Demands High-Level Probe, Parliament Disruptions

Opposition Demands High-Level Probe into Ram Mandir Donations

Parliament's monsoon session saw strong protests from opposition parties against the central government concerning alleged irregularities in the donations and funds collected for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. MPs from the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and other opposition parties gathered in the Parliament complex, demanding a high-level and impartial investigation into the entire matter.

The primary accusation from the opposition is that serious discrepancies have occurred in the management of the donation money collected from devotees in the name of the Ram Mandir. Opposition leaders state that this issue is not merely about financial irregularities but is linked to the faith of millions of people.

Opposition's Stance and Investigation Demand

Speaking to the media in the Parliament complex, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav voiced her concerns. She asserted that if any misappropriation has taken place in the management of donations and offerings, an independent and impartial agency must conduct the investigation.

Dimple Yadav stated that the investigation should be carried out by an institution that all political parties can trust, deeming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) insufficient.

She expressed apprehension that a lack of transparency in matters concerning religious faith could erode the trust of millions of devotees nationwide in the government and related institutions. Dimple Yadav urged the government to reveal the truth of the entire matter and take strict action against those responsible.

Parliamentary Protests Intensify

Many other opposition party MPs, including those from the Congress, joined in the protest. Opposition MPs chanted slogans in the Parliament complex, reiterating their demand for a fair investigation into the alleged donation scam and an immediate response from the government.

The opposition also contends that the utilization and accounting of donations received by religious institutions should be completely transparent to prevent any doubts among devotees. The government has not yet issued a detailed response on this issue, though political rhetoric surrounding the matter has intensified both inside and outside Parliament.

It is anticipated that the opposition will continue to raise this issue in Parliament in the coming days, demanding a clear explanation from the government. This controversy has led to sharp exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition during the monsoon session, which are likely to escalate further.
