Bareilly Police Achieves Top Rank in Uttar Pradesh for Stolen Mobile Recovery

Bareilly Police has achieved a significant milestone by securing the top position in Uttar Pradesh for its success in resolving mobile phone theft and loss incidents. This accomplishment has been recognized by the Department of Telecommunications for effective work on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) and the Sanchar Saathi portal.

The success is attributed to the proactive efforts of the Cyber Cell and the swift actions taken by the police. According to the latest data released by the Police Technical Services Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh, Bareilly Police's performance was the best in the state as of March 31, 2026. During this period, the police acted upon 7,508 traceability requests and successfully recovered 5,099 mobile phones.

Based on this outstanding performance, Bareilly Police secured first place with 77.54 points. This remarkable achievement was celebrated with a special event held on October 28 at the CTO Compound in Hazratganj, Lucknow. Manish Chandra Sonkar, the nominated nodal officer from Bareilly, was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation by the Department of Telecommunications.

Cyber Cell's Pivotal Role Honored

Senior Superintendent of Police, Anurag Arya, credited the entire Cyber Cell team for this success, praising their diligent work and urging them to continue with the same dedication in the future. He emphasized the commendable performance of Prem Nagar, Izzatnagar, Subhash Nagar, Bhamora, and Kotwali police stations in this campaign.

The Cyber Cell team included Inspector Harendra Singh, Sub-Inspector Karan Singh Chauhan, Head Constable Satyaveer Singh, and Constables Manoj Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Deepak Kumar, and Amit Kumar. The effective utilization of portals like CEIR and Sanchar Saathi has provided significant relief to individuals affected by mobile phone theft.

These efforts have not only aided in the recovery of lost devices but have also ensured prompt and effective action on people's complaints, bringing much-needed reassurance to the public.
