Police Intensify Traffic Management Efforts

The Farrukhabad Police administration has ramped up its efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city, particularly after experiencing difficulties during the recent Ganesh Visarjan celebrations. This renewed focus led to a significant operation conducted on Wednesday.

Targeting Congestion Hotspots

Traffic In-charge Avdhesh Pandey, leading a police contingent, spearheaded a comprehensive campaign near the Lal Gate roadways bus stop within the Qadri Gate police station area. The primary objective of this initiative was to regulate traffic and alleviate the persistent problem of traffic jams.

Enforcement and Warnings Issued

During the campaign, police personnel actively cleared haphazardly parked e-rickshaws and other private vehicles from the main road in front of the Lal Gate roadways bus stop. These vehicles were frequently observed stopping in the middle of the road to pick up or drop off passengers, causing significant disruptions and contributing to gridlock. Additionally, vehicles parked on the footpath and roadside outside the roadways premises were also impeding traffic speed.

Police issued challans (fines) to the drivers of these vehicles and issued stern warnings regarding their conduct. Traffic In-charge Avdhesh Pandey provided explicit instructions to the roadways bus drivers, mandating that they park their buses strictly within the designated premises. A complete ban has been imposed on stopping or allowing passengers to board or alight from buses on the main road, with a clear warning of strict action for any violations.

Commitment to Sustained Action

The driver of a vehicle parked on the roadside outside the post office at Lal Gate was also cautioned, with assurances that such negligence would not be tolerated in the future and that strict measures would be taken against rule-breaking vehicles. The sudden police action caused temporary disarray in the concerned area. The police emphasized that no vehicle obstructing traffic on the city's main routes would be spared.

This campaign will continue relentlessly to provide relief to citizens from traffic congestion and ensure a well-managed traffic system in the city. The police aim to offer respite to citizens and guarantee safe transportation.
