Preparations Underway for Police Commemoration Day

In memory of the bravery and sacrifice of valiant police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, Police Commemoration Day will be observed with grandeur in Madhya Pradesh on October 21. A meeting was convened at the Police Headquarters on Friday, chaired by Additional Director General of Police (SAF), Shri D. Shrinivas Varma, to review the preparations.

Review of Event Arrangements and Participation

During the meeting, ADG Shri Varma conducted a thorough review of the event preparations and assigned responsibilities to the concerned officials with necessary directives. He instructed that the decoration and seating arrangements at the Shaheed Smarak Sthal (Martyrs' Memorial) within the Lal Parade Ground complex should be of an excellent standard.

March Past Rehearsals and Contingent Inclusion

Shri Varma also emphasized the inclusion of platoons from the Home Guard, an anti-Naxal squad, and a dog squad, alongside various police platoons in the march past. He stressed the importance of regular rehearsals for an excellent march past and directed that preparations be completed within the stipulated deadlines.

Honoring Martyr Families and Guest Management

Particular attention was urged towards the respectful invitation of the families of martyred police personnel attending Police Commemoration Day. Arrangements for their travel and accommodation should be of high quality. Similarly, directives were issued to complete the process of inviting other esteemed guests promptly and respectfully.

Schedule for Rehearsals Finalized

It was decided during the meeting that rehearsals for the march past would commence on October 6. Subsequently, the full-dress rehearsal for the parade is scheduled to be held on October 19. This ensures that the main event on October 21 proceeds smoothly.

Officials Present and Assurances Given

Commandants Shri Hitesh Choudhary (7th Battalion), Shri Pramod Kumar Sinha (23rd Battalion), Shri Nagendra Singh (25th Battalion), and other relevant officials were present at the meeting. They assured their cooperation in finalizing the preparations.
