Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon the nation's youth to abstain from drug addiction and channel their energy into nation-building, skill development, and other constructive activities. This appeal comes as part of the central government's ambitious initiative, the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva, Viksit Bharat' (Drug-Free Youth, Developed India) campaign.

Various dialogues, competitions, and awareness programs are being organized across the country to sensitize the youth about this critical issue. The Prime Minister's clear message emphasizes that India's youth power is the country's greatest asset.

'Nasha Mukt Yuva, Viksit Bharat' Campaign Gains Momentum

Under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and as part of MY Bharat (MAHILA CHETNA ABHIYAN FOR YOUTH AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT), a special campaign themed 'Nasha Mukt Yuva, Viksit Bharat' is being conducted in universities and colleges nationwide from July 16 to August 15, 2026.

Within this campaign, Youth Icons are motivating young people through awareness sessions to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. The objective of this campaign is to transform drug de-addiction into a mass movement.

To achieve this, various competitions, awareness programs, and community activities are also being organized at the district level, with significant participation from youth and the general public.
