NSUI Protests Proposed Bifurcation of Medical Science University

NSUI Demands University Unity, Submits Memorandum

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has registered its protest against the proposed bifurcation of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University in Jabalpur. A delegation led by student leader Anurag Shukla submitted a memorandum to the University's Deputy Registrar, Mr. Ajay Mishra, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor.

The memorandum strongly demands the preservation of the university's unity and original structure. A key demand from NSUI is the immediate convening of the University's Executive Council meeting.

University's Executive Council Meeting Urged

NSUI insists that this meeting should unanimously pass a resolution explicitly opposing any form of bifurcation of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University by the Vice-Chancellor and the entire Executive Council. This resolution should then be forwarded to the state government, urging them to maintain the university's unity and autonomy.

Concerns Raised Over Impact on University's Identity and Quality

Student leader Anurag Shukla stated that the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University in Jabalpur is not merely an institution but a vital hub for medical education in the state with a significant historical identity. He argued that the university's bifurcation would be against the interests of students, researchers, faculty, and staff, potentially impacting administrative systems and the quality of medical education in the state.

Shukla clarified that NSUI will continue to oppose the university's division through democratic and constitutional means, vowing to pursue its struggle at all levels to protect the institution's unity.

During the submission of the memorandum, NSUI activists raised slogans in support of the university's unity and pledged to remain united in defending the institution's interests. Several students were present, including Rizwan Ali Koti, Kapil Bhojak, Sagar Shukla, Amit Sonkar, Devki Patel, Shafi Khan, Ankit Shukla, Ejaz Ansari, Prateek Gautam, Ankit Kori, Waqar Khan, Yug Thakur, and Adil Sayyed.
